KPISF Commanding Officers Tour Revolutionary Battle Sites in Mt Paektu Area

Hyesan, January 28 (KCNA) -- Commanding officers of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces (KPISF) toured the revolutionary battle sites in Mt Paektu Area from Jan. 20 to 28. They departed Hyesan and reached Pochonbo, where they placed a floral basket and bouquets at the statue of President Kim Il Sung on the shore of Stream Karim and made a bow to him. They looked round the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, the Police Sub-station, the subcounty office, and other places in Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site. At the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, the visitors remembered the intention of Chairman Kim Jong Il who started a journey for a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu in order to add luster to the revolutionary traditions of Paektu, eternal cornerstone of the Workers' Party of Korea and revolution. After visiting Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs, they arrived at Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp to look around the historical mementoes preserved there. They reached the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Musan Area through Mupho Bivouac; looked around groups of large subsidiary theme sculptures, and visited Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station. They had a meeting to pledge to be loyal to the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un at the Samjiyon Grand Monument. During the study tour, they handed over farming materials to agricultural workers and went to the construction sites in the area of the township of Samjiyon. They held colorful political and cultural events such as a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas, a poem recitation meeting and a contest of singing revolutionary songs in chorus during their tour. |
