S. Korean Organizations Protest against U.S. Demand for Increased Upkeep for Its Forces

Pyongyang, January 29 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations of south Korea including the People's Action for Peace against War and the People's Solidarity for the Revision of Unequal South Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement" held a demonstration on Jan. 24 in denunciation of the U.S. demand for the increased upkeep for its forces.

The organizations that held a press conference outside the U.S. embassy on that day said that the U.S. demanded a high increase in the expenses for the upkeep of its forces.

They said that the increased upkeep for the U.S. forces means greater burden on the south Korean people.

They declared they would start a demonstration, urging the U.S. to immediately stop its demand for the increase.
