Nigatu Dagnachew, chairman of the Ethiopian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and chairman of the Ethiopia-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Committee, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee set a celebration period between Jan. 27 and Feb. 20 and decided to hold colorful political and cultural events in praise of feats performed by Kim Jong Il in carrying out the Korean revolution and accomplishing the cause of global independence.
