Appeal to Entire Korean Nation Backed

Pyongyang, February 1 (KCNA) -- The European Regional Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification on Jan. 26 called upon overseas Koreans to proactively turn out in the patriotic movement for reunification in support of the appeal to the entire Korean nation adopted at the joint conference of the government, political parties and organizations of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Overseas Koreans should positively support the historic appeal calling them a companion of the reunification movement out of patriotism, it said.

It said that it is important to value the historic north-south declarations and consistently implement them as mentioned in the appeal.

It went on:

Overseas Koreans live in different places, but they should turn out as one in the patriotic movement for reunification to implement the north-south declarations with a single mind.

The stand and attitude towards the declarations constitute a touchstone to distinguish between independence and sycophancy, between reunification and division and between patriotism and treachery.

It is the Korean nation that wants peace of the Korean peninsula and has the strength to defend it.

There is no need to read other's mind and get approval in doing inter-Korean cooperation as the Korean nation is responsible for it, it said, calling on overseas Koreans to make a tangible contribution to opening a broad avenue to national prosperity.
