The 26th Paektusan Prize International Figure Skating Festival for celebrating the Day of the Shining Star will take place at the Ice Rink on the bank of the Pothong River in Pyongyang on Feb. 15-17.

At the swimming pool of the Changgwang Health Complex there will be a synchronized swimming demonstration on Feb. 14-16.

Amid the interest of sportspersons and amateurs, the Paektusan Prize Sports Games for celebrating the Day of the Shining Star was opened. The games lasting until Feb. 28 include such events as football, basketball, volleyball, speed skating and ice hokey.

The 24th Paektusan Prize Sports Contest among Officials of National Institutions is to begin on Feb. 4. The contest will serve as a good occasion in significantly celebrating the Day of the Shining Star and raising the hot wind of sports throughout the country.
