Chongryon Officials Support Appeal of DPRK
Tokyo, February 3 (KNS-KCNA) -- Officials of the central organizations of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and chairpersons of the Chongryon headquarters and chapters across Japan made public statements on February 2 in support of the appeal to the entire Korean nation adopted at the joint conference of the government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK.

Jo Myong Jin, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan, said that the officials of the youth league and Korean youth in Japan fully supported the appeal which was adopted and released at the said conference reflecting the unanimous desire and will of the entire Korean nation to keep writing a proud history of national reconciliation, unity, peace and prosperity.

Ri Yong Su, chairman of the Central Standing Council of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan, said that the appeal comprehensively reflected the unanimous demand and will of the Koreans in Japan and the rest of the Korean nationals to hold fast to the principle of national independence and self-determination as their lifeline.

Nam Ju Hyon, vice-chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan, noted that all the officials of the union and Korean women in Japan ardently supported the appeal full of confidence and optimism about the future.

Ko Tok U, chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters of Chongryon, vowed to make devoted efforts in the van of the great cause for providing a reunification plan common to the nation.

Kim Chol, chairman of the Hyogo Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon, stressed that he would arouse the compatriots to the patriotic movement for reunification for implementing the north-south declarations and thus fulfill his sacred mission in ushering in a golden age of peace, prosperity and reunification of the Korean peninsula.
