The performance began with choruses "We Will Win Victory, Flying the Colours of the Supreme Commander" and "Song of the Korean People's Army". Put on the stage were colourful numbers such as female solo and chorus "Cantata to Marshal Kim Il Sung", guitar ensemble "To a Decisive Battle" and song and dance and national instrumental ensemble "Arirang of Army-People Unity".

The performers sang of the revolutionary feats of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, who created an epoch-making example of building the revolutionary armed forces and provided the military guarantee of the prosperity of socialist Korea with their outstanding idea and leadership.

There were also numbers such as poem and tale "Shine for All Ages, the Great Exploits for Army-Building" and percussion instrumental solo and chorus "Song of Coast Artillerymen".

Among the audience were officials of the youth league and youth and students in Pyongyang.
