Great Declarations Made by Illustrious Commanders at Military Parades

Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- February 8 marks the 71st founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA), the regular revolutionary armed forces. On this occasion, the Korean people are recollecting with deep emotion the great declarations made by the illustrious commanders at significant military parades recorded in the glorious history of the KPA. In a speech at the military parade declaring the birth of the KPA on February 8, Juche 37 (1948), President Kim Il Sung wholeheartedly hailed the foundation of the People's Army and stressed that all the people can show their pride before the whole world in having their own modern, regular army to fight for the freedom and honor of the country. The fact that the Korean people have founded such a superb and glorious People's Army once again demonstrates to the world that the Korean nation is fully capable of building a rich and strong independent country with its own efforts and of ranking itself among the advanced states of the world, he said. And he declared that the founding of the People's Army fills the Korean people with great pride and signifies another brilliant victory for them. Chairman Kim Jong Il delivered congratulatory remarks "Glory to the officers and men of the heroic Korean People's Army" at the military parade held in April 1992 for the first time after his assumption of KPA supreme commandership. His remarks were a historic declaration that the KPA, which developed into an invincible revolutionary army, would be ever-victorious. Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un declared with pride, at the military parade in celebration of the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung on April 15, 2012, that Juche Korea has a hundred-year-long glorious history and ten million-year history of Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea is in safe hands as the heroic KPA has an ever-victorious history. |
