Joint Statement Issued by Swiss Organizations to Mark Day of Shining Star

| Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- A Swiss preparatory committee for celebrating the 77th birth anniversary of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il, the Swiss Organizing Committee for the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea released a joint statement on February 2 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star). The statement said: Generalissimo Kim Jong Il was born on February 16, 1942, at the height of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. His birth was an event of a historic significance in the Korean revolution. Members of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army wrote words on trees saying that another brilliant commander was born to carry forward President Kim Il Sung. Kim Jong Suk brought up her son as a successor who will carry forward the revolutionary cause of Kim Il Sung. Generalissimo Kim Jong Il turned the DPRK into a socialist citadel and an invincible fortress by pursuing the Songun politics. He put forward national reunification as a supreme task of the nation and wisely led the struggle for carrying out President Kim Il Sung's instructions for national reunification. HE Kim Jong Un, who is perfectly carrying forward his idea and cause, is energetically leading the building of a powerful socialist nation and the sacred cause of reunification in Korea. Kim Jong Il's era is creditably carried forward as the glorious era of Kim Jong Un. |
