Art Performance Marks Chairman Kim Jong Il's Birth Anniversary in Japan
Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- Koreans in Japan gave an art performance at the Korean Hall of Culture in Tokyo, Japan on Feb. 15 in celebration of the 77th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Enjoying the performance were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon); Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee; Pae Jin Gu, vice-chairman and concurrently director general of the General Affairs Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee; Jo Il Yon, vice-chairman and concurrently director of the Organizational Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee; Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee; Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and concurrently chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan; Ri Myong Yu, chairman of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon; advisers and department directors of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, the chief of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan, leading officials of th

e central leadership bodies and affiliates, chairpersons of the Chongryon headquarters in Kanto, Chongryon officials, Koreans in Japan and teachers and students at Korean University.

The performance was given by artistes of the Kumgang-san Opera Troupe of Chongryon, the Korean Song and Dance Ensemble in Tokyo, members of the Korean Youth League in Kanto, members of the song circle of the women's union and students of Korean University.

The performance began with a chorus of students of Korean University "Song of General Kim Jong Il", an immortal revolutionary hymn.

Put on the stage were colorful numbers such as a male solo "Ode to Comrade Kim Jong Il".

The performers represented the ardent yearning of Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan for Kim Jong Il who performed undying feats in accomplishing the Juche cause and carrying out the movement of Koreans in Japan.

Also staged were a female vocal sextet "Ardent Desire" representing the ardent desire of the Korean people and the Koreans in Japan for wellbeing of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and a solo in bass and chorus "Our National Flag" exciting the audience with ardent patriotism.
