Some days ago, Prime Minister Abe in a full-dress session of the House of Representatives said that a campaign groundlessly criticizing and opposing the "Self-Defence Forces" (SDF) is still going on, and underscored the need to constitutionally define the existence of SDF.

He, even in the Congress of the Liberal Democratic Party held on Feb. 10, asserted that an end should be put to unconstitutional dispute, clamoring for "the significance of stipulating the existence of the SDF in Article 9 of the constitution". Prior to this, the chief of the headquarters for the promotion of constitutional revision of the Liberal Democratic Party in a press conference said that it is a top-priority task for his party to revise Article 9.

Their remarks are a revelation of war hysteria to make Japan a military giant and materialize the wild ambition for overseas expansion by revising the constitution at any cost.

Japan is not allowed to have the rights of belligerency and participation in war as well as a regular army, as it is an aggressor nation, war criminal state which stained the vast Asian continent with blood in the last century. Quite contrary to it, Japan has steadily resuscitated as a "country able to have an army" and "war-capable country" since the end of the Second World War.

After Abe took the helm of the country, in particular, the Japanese reactionaries, setting it as an ultimate goal to build a war-capable state, have persistently pursued the ambition to replace the "Peace Constitution" with a war constitution by adding the definition of the SDF's existence to Article 9.

It is needless to say again that for the Abe group, the present constitution which stipulates "the renunciation of war" and bans Japan from keeping combat power comes to be a hurdle in their way to reviving militarism and realizing the wild ambition for overseas invasion.

It is the ambition of the Abe regime to make Japan a normal state with the rights of belligerency, war-capable country by attaining the goal of constitutional revision at an early date.

It has already laid legal foundations, including the law to deal with contingencies in areas surrounding Japan and law on special measures against terrorism, for overseas military advance.

Japan, possessed of carrier-type warships, latest fighters and refueling tankers, is hastening increasing the actual war capacity of the SDF while frantically trying to have more mid- and long-range missiles.

After all, the revision of the constitution means the rebirth of war-capable state.

The persistent ambition for aggression against the trend of global peace and stability started from the Korean peninsula and its materialization will bring only disastrous future to Japan.

The international community should never allow the moves of the Japanese reactionaries, wrecker of peace and stability, for military giant and overseas expansion.
