The editorial said that Kim Jong Il is an outstanding statesman, encourager and indomitable defender of socialist revolution, and distinguished thinker and theoretician of the present world.

Noting that it is important to know well and study his great feats, the editorial added:

In the closing years of the 20th century, the imperialists collapsed the Soviet Union with their strategy "peaceful transition" and some countries pulled down the flag of socialism. As a result, the world socialist movement suffered a great loss and broad strata of working people were plunged again into a despairing abyss of being exploited and oppressed.

To cope with the changed situation, Comrade Kim Jong Il defended socialism in the spirit of a revolutionary and provided precious experience.

He encouraged the Korean people to demonstrate the might of the self-supporting national economy and protect the sovereignty and dignity of the country and nation while overcoming all difficulties in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance despite the sanctions and blockade by the imperialists, so as to develop the DPRK to be admired by the world and instill the conviction into the hearts of the oppressed people.

He developed in depth the Juche philosophy.

His feats are great and his exploits were performed for not only the DPRK but also the world socialist movement.

He rejected dogma in socialist revolution and construction. This is what all revolutionaries should study and follow.
