There took place seminars on his exploits by the Russian preparatory committee for the Day of the Sun (birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung) and the Day of the Shining Star and the Russian Group for Solidarity with the DPRK and film shows at the Sakhalin Regional Branch Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Sakhalin Region Assembly from Jan. 28 to Feb. 8.

Zhukova, first vice-chairwoman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, lauded Kim Jong Il as the eternal leader of the Korean people who dedicated his all to the people all his life.

She said that Kim Jong Il is a good friend of the Russian people who made a great contribution to the development of the Russia-DPRK friendly relations.

Bavrin, chairman of the General People's Union Party of Russia, stressed that Kim Jong Il reliably defended the country's sovereignty and the global peace and security and his exploits would shine long along with the century.

Lebedev, chief of the Russian Group for Solidarity with the DPRK, said that Kim Jong Il victoriously advanced the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by Kim Il Sung.

Korniyenko, secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, said he came to know better about the exploits performed by Kim Jong Il in developing the Russia-DPRK friendly relations through film show and that Kim Jong Il is a great man whom all the Russian people follow.

A message of greeting to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar hosted by the Russian preparatory committee for celebrating the Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star.

A seminar on the exploits of Kim Jong Il was also held by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union on Feb. 11.
