Celebration meetings were held by the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia, the Maritime Territorial Branch of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, the Lenin Young Communist League of the Russian Federation, the Korean War Veterans' Council of Russia, the Regional Social Organization of Russia "Borozino", the Maritime Territorial Association for Friendship with the DPRK and the 11th Middle School in Khabarovsk City. Seminars were held by the Communist Party "Russian Communists", the All-Russia Lenin Young Communist League and the Sakhalin Regional Branch Committee of the Lenin Young Communist League of the Russian Federation

Russian people including public personages were present at the events.

A vice-chairperson of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia said that the Russian people enshrine in their hearts the greatness of Kim Jong Il possessed of unlimited devotion, warm love for the people, great yet humble traits and noble patriotism.

The first secretary of the C.C., Lenin Young Communist League of the Russian Federation pointed out that Kim Jong Il firmly defended the country's sovereignty with his Songun-based revolutionary leadership and turned the DPRK into the world's military power at a time when the imperialists' move to strangle the DPRK reached an extreme in the closing years of the last century.

The chairperson of the Regional Social Organization of Russia "Borozino" and other personages highly praised Kim Jong Il, remarking that he is an outstanding politician and thinker and theoretician recognized by the world and they came to more deeply understand the scientific accuracy and truth of socialism whenever they read his works. They lauded his exploits for the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Juche and human cause of independence.

Messages of greeting to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un were adopted at the events held by the Lenin Young Communist League of the Russian Federation and the All-Russia Lenin Young Communist League.

Meanwhile, a Korean book and photo exhibition opened with due ceremony in Sankt-Peterburg, Russia on Feb. 14.
