Attending the meeting were delegates and members of different political parties and organizations of the country.

Felix Jesus Velasquez Castillo, chairman of the Venezuelan National Preparatory Committee for Marking the Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star, general coordinator of the Federal Political Secretariat of the United Left Party of Venezuela and chairman of the Venezuelan Solidarity Committee for Korea's Peace and Reunification, made a speech at the meeting.

The speaker said that the world progressives admire Kim Jong Il so much as his exploits for the cause of human independence are great.

He went on:

When the world socialist movement faced a crisis due to the vicious moves of the imperialists, HE Kim Jong Il firmly defended Korean socialism, holding high the banner of the Juche idea, the Songun idea.

Under his guidance, the DPRK could fully demonstrate its might as a politico-ideological and military power in the international arena.

This was a historic event no one could imagine

The experience of the DPRK gives the people a conviction that if a country achieves the single-minded unity of the leader and the people and has its own tremendous might, it can always emerge victorious in the struggle against any formidable enemy.

Delegates of various political parties and organizations also said that Korean socialism led by HE Kim Jong Il, the eternal leader of the Korean people, is the people's paradise which is completely different from what Western countries said, and that the DPRK serves as the beacon of hope for the people struggling for justice.
