The president said that the relations between the two countries were long-standing relations of friendship and cooperation which have been forged and developed since Sao Tome and Principe gained independence and that he has reverence for President Kim Il Sung of Korea and won't forget that the President actively helped Sao Tome and Principe in the building of a new society.

He pointed out that his country is watching with admiration the successes made by the DPRK government and people in their struggle for peace and prosperity and will proactively support them in the future, too.

He hoped that the relations between the two countries would grow stronger.
