Koryo Celadon Tile
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The Korean nation has created a lot of precious heritages conductive to the development of human culture.

Among them is the Koryo celadon tile.

The pieces of tiles unearthed at Manwoldae in Kaesong City go to prove that celadon tiles made in the period of Koryo Kingdom (918-1392) had contained features of Koryo ceramics intact.

Antefixes of the concave and convex tiles are tinted with beautiful and famous emerald green. And carved in the concave tile are creeper patterns and the convex tile a peony in full bloom.

An old document wrote that a pavilion was built in the east of the royal palace and celadon tiles were laid on the roof.

The Koryo celadon tile based on the world-famous Koryo ceramics manufacturing technique is a precious cultural heritage showing the cultural development of Koryo.
