Present at the meeting were Yang Hyong Sop, Ro Tu Chol and Choe Hwi who are senior officials of the Party and the government, Ri Son Gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country; Pak Myong Chol, presidium member and director of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea; Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, officials of social organizations and working people in the city.

Kim Yong Dae, vice-president of the Presidium of the SPA, made a report.

He stressed that the March First Popular Uprising which was vigorously staged one century ago, jolting the whole land of Korea, was the patriotic resistance to retake the sovereignty of the country and the nation usurped by the Japanese imperialists.

He said that through the uprising, the Korean nation fully demonstrated its transparent and independent spirit, indomitable mettle and ardent patriotism and dealt a heavy blow at the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists and greatly encouraged the world oppressed people in their struggle for national liberation.

He pointed out that the uprising left a bitter lesson that the popular masses should consolidate their own forces under the guidance of the outstanding leader and revolutionary party and launch an organized struggle with correct strategy and tactics in order to win victory in their struggle for nation's sovereignty and country's independence, and that they stand against invaders armed to the teeth with arms.

The reporter referred to the fact that the desire of the Korean people for the independence and sovereignty of the nation was successfully realized by President Kim Il Sung.

He said that Chairman Kim Jong Il made patriotic devotion and efforts to vigorously carry forward the history of victory started in Mt. Paektu and add further glorify the dignity and honor of Juche Korea.

He emphasized that today the dignity of great Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea is being demonstrated at the highest level as they are led by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

He called for resolutely smashing the hostile policy towards the DPRK and their moves for reinvasion by the Japanese reactionaries viciously disturbing peace on the Korean Peninsula and blocking reunification of Korea while persisting to realize their old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere".

He stressed that all the Koreans would never forget forever the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists against the Korean nation but make them pay a dear price for the crimes.
