More than 2.8 million trees were planted on Friday.

Premier Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, An Jong Su, Pak Thae Song, Ro Tu Chol, Choe Hwi, Pak Thae Dok and other senior party and government officials planted trees at different places of the city including the sports village in Chongchun Street, Munsu Hill, Moran Hill and the arboretum of the Central Botanical Garden together with working people and youth and students in Pyongyang.

Officials of the Party and government organs and many citizens planted trees in different parts of the city on the same day.

Officials, working people and youth and students in Kangwon, South Phyongan, South Hamgyong and South Hwanghae Provinces planted trees in a scientific and technological way on the principles of planting the right trees in the right soil and in the right season.
