Celebrations, book and photo exhibitions, round-table talks, film shows and receptions took place at the DPRK missions in Russia, Vietnam, Mongolia, Laos, Syria, Nepal, Myanmar, Cambodia, Iran, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Pakistan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Germany, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Romania, Italy, Spain, Guinea, DR Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Libya, Kuwait, South Africa, Senegal, Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela, the DPRK permanent mission to the UN Office and international organizations in Geneva and the DPRK permanent mission to the UN.

Korean films including "Kimjongilia" and "My Country Has Emerged Victorious by Dint of Single-minded Unity" were screened at the film shows.

Present at the events on invitation were personages of governments, political parties, organisations and institutions and masses in relevant countries and representatives of international and regional bodies and officials of the DPRK missions.

The secretary of the Maritime Territorial Regional Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation said that Kim Jong Il who dedicated his all to the human cause of independence is the greatest man who recorded a brilliant chapter in the history of the world politics.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Communist Party said that Kim Jong Il is a great leader who made great contributions to the development of the Workers' Party of Korea and the accomplishment of the socialist cause through his energetic ideo-theoretical activities and rare leadership.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico referred to the feats performed by Kim Jong Il for party building and his Songun leadership exploits.
