President Kim Il Sung, together with Chairman Kim Jong Il and anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk, mounted Moran Hill on March 2, Juche 35 (1946), where he gave an important instruction to plant many trees and flowers.

That day was recorded as the historical day when the tree-planting campaign started in the DPRK.

Noting when many trees are planted and the whole country is covered with thick verdure, can it be possible to develop the economy and improve the people's living standard and turn the country into the people's paradise good to live in, the editorial says:

The Workers' Party of Korea regards afforestation as an important work for the morrow of the prosperous country and happiness of the posterity.

All Party members and other working people should devote themselves to planting trees, always remembering the great devotion of Kim Jong Il who had made tireless efforts for the country and the people till the last moments of his life with his heart burning with enthusiasm.

The editorial calls on all the people to turn out as one in the spring tree-planting, fully display their patriotic enthusiasm and thus turn the country into a beautiful paradise for the people and socialist fairyland.
