Photo Exhibition Opened in Russia

Pyongyang, March 7 (KCNA) -- Photo exhibition "History of Friendship" opened with due ceremony at the building of the State Duma of Russia on March 5 to mark the 70th anniversaries of President Kim Il Sung's first official visit to the Soviet Union and the conclusion of the agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between the DPRK and Russia. Seen at its venue were photos dealing with the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. And displayed were photos showing the daily-changing appearance of the DPRK under the leadership of Kim Jong Un and the vitality of the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of attaching importance to the people. Present at its opening ceremony were deputies from various political parties including Melinikov, first vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation who doubles as first deputy speaker of the State Duma of Russia, and personages of the Foreign Ministry, the WPK delegation led by Han Man Hyok, vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, the DPRK ambassador to Russia and his embassy members. Speeches were made there. Melinikov said that the tradition of Russia-DPRK friendship provided and developed by the President and the Chairman is being successfully carried forward by the Supreme Leader. The vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation who doubles as first vice-chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the State Duma noted that the photo exhibition serves as a very important occasion clearly proving once again the friendly relations between Russia and the DPRK which have a long history and tradition. A member of the Supreme Council of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia who doubles as member of the International Affairs Committee of the State Duma expressed support to the DPRK in its efforts to exercise influence in the international arena and ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula. The exhibition will go on till March 8. |
