Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- Achievements have been made in the reclamation of tidelands in the DPRK this year. According to data available, builders in charge of the reclamation of tidelands across the country removed one million and hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of earth to build 7,000-odd meters of anti-tidal dikes in a little more than two months. Workers of the South Phyongan Provincial Tideland Reclamation Complex removed more than one million cubic meters of earth and sped up the project for paving with stones 140,000 square meters of embankment to complete the first dam construction for reclaiming the Ansok Tideland. Those of the South Hwanghae Provincial Tideland Reclamation Complex in charge of the construction for reclaiming the Ryongmaedo Tideland have built 80 to 90 meters of anti-tidal dike a day. And those of the North Phyongan Provincial Tideland Reclamation Complex successfully blew up 50,000 and 150,000 cubic meters of earth and thus made a breakthrough in hastening the second-stage project for reclaiming the Honggondo Tideland. |
