The Abe group made public the newly fixed defense program and the midterm defence capability buildup outline in Dec. last year and then laid bare the intention to hugely ratchet up military spending and is pushing forward it.

It is examining the plan for increasing the military spending, which is not allowed to surpass one percent of GDP, by 1.3 percent till 2023.

Japan's Ministry of Defence has already demanded 5 257.4 billion yen worth of military spending for the fiscal year 2019, much more than that of the previous fiscal year.

When Abe took power, the international community has already foreseen what Japan would be up to later, says the commentary. It goes on:

The Japanese reactionaries are resorting to a foolish act to realize their old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere".

Japan has tried to lift a ban on war stipulated in the present constitution while whetting the sword of reinvasion. It is revealing its design of aggression for militarism again. The Abe group takes the lead in the revival of Japanese militarism. There is no guarantee that Japan will not trigger another Pacific war in future.

Japan should properly know that the dynamic relations in the region have undergone a radical change and it is becoming the most dangerous enemy of global peace again. If it fails to draw a lesson from its shameful history of aggression but persists in a military giant and reinvasion, only a tragic end will wait for it.
