Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung was a great sage possessed of boundless human love and trust and revolutionary obligation as his inborn disposition. Among his foreign friends is Salvador Allende Gossens, ex-president of Chile. Allende became an adherent of the Juche idea and decided to have an audience with Kim Il Sung while reading his works. Kim Il Sung met Allende on a visit to the DPRK in Juche 58 (1969), saying that they would be comrades-in-arms in the common front against imperialism for life. Later, Allende had striven for the independent development of Chile and the building of a new society. He became the president of Chile in 1970 and turned out in the struggle for independence and justice. When counter-revolutionary forces staged a military coup at the imperialists' instigation, he fought with arms to death. After his death, Kim Il Sung met the Chilean charge d'affaires ad interim to the DPRK and remembered Allende, recommending that his younger sister in exile should get medical treatment in the DPRK. And he remembered Allende on various occasions, praising him as a hero of not only the Chilean people but also the working class the world over. As shown above, President Kim Il Sung's human love and comradeship were very warm and boundless. That's why even persons from countries hostile toward the DPRK, to say nothing of foreigners in close relationship with the President, were fascinated by his noble personality as soon as they met him. A personage from Europe, who had an audience with the President during the visit to the DPRK, said: Many people would ask me what kind of person the President is. Then, I tell them that he is the great human being, inseparable and always respectable. Indeed, President Kim Il Sung is the eternal sun of humankind possessed of true human love and noble revolutionary obligation. |
