Undong-ri called "apricot village" in Hamju County, South Hamgyong Province directed effort to spreading good species of dwarf apricot trees and planted 800 trees this year. And each house planted 15 plum, persimmon and other fruit trees on the average.

Unhung-ri in Thaechon County, North Phyongan Province, has planted 1 000 fruit trees every year, including apricot, peach, jujube and chest nut trees.

Houses in Chonsam-ri, Anbyon County, Kangwon Province have respectively cultivated 10 persimmon trees on the average. Each house with more than 30 persimmon trees harvests several tons of persimmons a year.

In Samjigang-ri, Jaeryong County, South Hwanghae Province each house has harvested 300 kilograms of apricots a year. Samjigang-ri set it as a target for each house to plant more than 10 fruit trees.

It is the consistent policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on fruit farming to plant more than five fruit trees at each house of farm villages.
