Crying out for "keeping up perfect military posture" and "improving the operational capacity in contingency", the south Korean military authorities have announced that they will single-handedly stage the south Korea-U.S. joint military exercises slated for April and May "intensively" and "qualitatively".

Accordingly, they are going to more intensively wage in April the Ssangryong drill which has been staged every year as part of Foal Eagle exercise, a joint field maneuvers with the U.S.

They are also examining a plan to "qualitatively" stage the joint air combat drill Max Thunder based on the combined drill for combat readiness posture carried out by the south Korean air force single-handedly in December last year.

It is a mockery of the fellow countrymen desirous of durable peace in the Korean Peninsula, and a reckless act to deny the north-south declarations confirmed under the eyes of the nation and the world.
