21st Kimilsungia Festival Opens
Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- The 21st Kimilsungia Festival opened here with due ceremony at the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition on Friday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung (Day of the Sun).

Exhibited at the festival venue were potted Kimilsungias presented by 80 units including ministries, national institutions, armed forces organs and working people from all walks of life and school youth and children.

Also displayed there are flowers cultivated by overseas Koreans organizations like the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), overseas Koreans, foreign embassies and missions of international bodies here and friendship and solidarity organizations and personages of different countries.

Present at the opening ceremony were Pak Thae Song, vice-chairman of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, Jon Kwang Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials of the festival organizing committee, ministries, national institutions and armed forces organs, working people and service personnel.

Attending it were members of the Society for Disseminating and Supporting Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia, overseas compatriots, staff members of the Indonesian embassy here and foreign guests.

Kim Chang Do, chairman of the Korea Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee, made an opening address.

Expressing the belief that the festival would propel the dynamic advance of the Korean people to build a socialist utopia by materializing the patriotic desire of President Kim Il Sung for building a power, and contribute to further deepening the friendly ties with the world progressives who love justice and peace, he declared the festival open.

The participants went round the festival venue after the ceremony.
