In his policy speech "Tasks of the People's Government in Modeling the Whole of Society on the Juche Idea" delivered in April Juche 71 (1982), the President said that the independent world means the one free from dominationism and colonialism and the one in which the sovereignty of all the countries and nations is ensured.

And in his congratulatory speech made at the opening ceremony of the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students on July 1, 1989, he said the present era is the one of independence and the independent world where people of all the countries develop and prosper all together, free from aggression and war, domination and subjugation, is the one suited to the ideal and nature of human beings.

His speech stirred up the hearts of representatives of youth and students and individuals from one hundred and tens of countries. In particular, the head of the Nigerian delegation said that the congratulatory speech of H.E. President Kim Il Sung was very excellent.

The President met with the delegation of the March 26 Movement of Uruguay and other delegations and political and public figures from different countries and explained the idea on building an independent new world to them.
