Day of Sun Marked Abroad

Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- Opening ceremonies of Korean book, photo and craftwork exhibitions took place in Russia, Bulgaria, Sweden and Senegal from March 30 to April 11 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung (Day of the Sun). Speeches were made at the ceremonies attended by the personages of various strata and masses of those countries. The vice-governor of Sovietskaya Gavan District Administration in Khabarovsk Territory, Russia said that the Korean people and the world progressives splendidly mark the Day of the Sun every year. The first vice president of Sckolkovo Fund noted that the exhibition is of more weighty significance as it is to be held to mark the birthday of President Kim Il Sung, a founding father of socialist Korea, and the Russian people bear in their hearts his exploits for the development of the friendly relations between the Russia and DPRK. Speakers at the event held in Sweden said that they were struck with admiration at the resourcefulness and talents of the diligent Korean people, hoping that the exhibition would serve as an important chance to introduce the reality of the DPRK to the Nordic people. A spokesperson for the Workers' Party for the Independence of Senegal who is a member of its Political Bureau stressed that Kim Il Sung is a great leader who led the cause of independence against imperialism to victory and a benefactor who gave active assistance to the peoples of the African countries in their struggle for national liberation and building of a new society and the Senegalese people will always remember him. |
