The work, published on April 24, Juche 48(1959), comprehensively deals with the ideological and moral traits to be possessed by the health workers and the Juche-oriented idea and policy of public health.

Attending the meeting were Pak Thae Song, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Jon Kwang Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials concerned, medical workers and researchers in the fields of public health and medical science in Pyongyang.

Kim Hyong Hun, vice-minister of Public Health, made a commemorative report.

He said that Kim Il Sung made the public health law adopted and laid firm groundwork for developing the public health service on a higher stage.

He noted that Chairman Kim Jong Il made sure that the health workers regarded devotion to patients as noble ideological and moral traits in every period of the revolution and learned after the human love, devotion and self-sacrificing spirit of health workers in the Chollima age.

He pointed out that the public health service of the country has entered a fresh stage of development under the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

He said that over the past 60 years after the publication of the work, multi-purpose medical service centres have been built to promote the health of the people and the medical institutions have undergone face-lifting for more solid material and technical foundations of public health under the leadership of the peerlessly great men.

He called for giving fuller play to the advantages of the socialist public health system by bringing about a fresh turn in the public health service on the Party's people-first principle.
