A keynote report was made by Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, co-chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu and first vice-chairman of the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea.

Noting that President Kim Il Sung turned the Democratic People's Republic of Korea into a socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defence under the uplifted banner of Juche, the reporter praised Kim Il Sung as the greatest man representing the 20th century and outstanding state leader recognized by the world.

Noting that Chairman Kim Jong Il defended the DPRK's sovereignty and dignity and provided a springboard for the building of a powerful socialist nation by pursuing his original Songun politics, the reporter lauded Kim Jong Il for arranging the two north-south summit meetings for the first time in the history of division of the Korean nation with his warm love for the nation and thus bringing about a historic turning phase for national reunification.

The reporter said that Marshal Kim Jong Un has invariably led the DPRK along the road of independence and socialism, as desired by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Then speeches were made by Cati Campos Rontop, general secretary of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, Rosanita Campos, vice-president of the Party for Free Motherland of Brazil, Diego Antonio Rivero, chairman of the Venezuela-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association, Estuardo Martinez Perez, secretary general of the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea, and others.

A letter to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar.

Also adopted there was an appeal of the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea to the world peace-loving people on the occasion of the first anniversaries of the historic Panmunjom Declaration and the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement.
