The appeal said that the adoption of the Panmunjom declaration and the June 12 DPRK-U.S. joint statement, provided by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's decision and will to defend peace, instilled great hope and expectations for peace and co-prosperity into the progressive peoples.

The Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea suggested setting the period from April 27 to June 12, the first anniversaries of the adoption of the said historic declaration and statement, as the "period of the international action for peace, prosperity and reunification of the Korean peninsula" and actively conducting solidarity activities of supporting the just cause of the Korean people, and appealed to the world's peace-loving people as follows:

First, let's powerfully wage international actions of support demanding that the climate of peace created on the Korean peninsula be led to the establishment of permanent peace-keeping mechanism!

Second, let's extend support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle for developing the inter-Korean cooperation and exchange and achieving the prosperity of the nation by concerted efforts!

Let's lay bare the injustice of the illegal and brutal sanctions blocking the development and prosperity of the Korean nation and take a courageous action in demand of their immediate lifting!

Third, let's extend firm solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to reunify the country in the spirit of national independence!

The appeal expressed the belief that the world's peace-loving people would further strengthen solidarity activities to support the just cause of the Korean people for realizing the country's peace, prosperity and reunification, aware of the sense of duty for the times and history.
