The people in Kangwon Province pledged in their appeal to turn their province into the leading province in attaining self-sufficiency under the uplifted banner of self-reliance, the most civilized and richest province.

Leading newspapers of the DPRK Wednesday say in editorials that the appeal reflecting the faith of the people in Kangwon Province is an eruption of their ardent loyalty to devotedly defend the idea, line and determination of the Party Central Committee with the great victory of self-reliance and self-development and a manifestation of their high class dignity and patriotism to show the mettle of the Korean people to the hostile forces keen on blocking the advance of the DPRK.

Rodong Sinmun notes that the militant appeal of the people in Kangwon Province makes the whole country seethe like a furnace. It goes on:

We should hold fast to self-reliance as a treasured sword for prosperity to wage a dynamic all-people death-defying campaign and thus write a great history of the country to be prosperous with self-reliance.

The Fourth Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK and the First Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK reaffirmed it as the steadfast political line to build a powerful socialist nation with a grip on the revolutionary line of independence and strategy of self-reliance. It is the firm determination of the WPK to usher in a heyday of building socialism with our own efforts while solving all problems on the principle of self-reliance and self-development without allowing any slightest concession in matters for the fundamental interests of our state and people whatever difficulties.

Self-reliance is the invariable path of Juche Korea and its eternal social customs.
