The show was sponsored by the Zoological Society under the North Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

Its purpose is to conduct the registration and survey of Phungsan dogs, natural monument of the country and protective animal of the state, and the appraisal of their breed. It is also to further increase the number of purebred at an early date by ensuring the dissemination of knowledge on the standard appearance of Phungsan dog and its biological character.

Taking part in the show were scientists and technicians in the field of zoology and veterinary science and animal husbandry, residents of the city who are breeding Phungsan dogs and working citizens who hope to breed Phungsan dogs.

The show was held in the way of enrolling the names of Phungsan dogs and their peculiar data and deciding their ranking through various examinations.

According to Dr. Ok Jin Yong, director of the Zootechny Institute under the Academy of Agricultural Science, many units in charge of protecting and propagating Phungsan dogs came into being throughout the country.

All the participants of the show expressed their willingness to mass-breed Phungsan dog, which has been regarded as pride of the nation for its cleverness and bravery from long ago.
