Rodong Sinmun Calls for Smashing Maneuvers of S. Korean Conservative Forces
Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun on Monday says in an article that maneuvers of the south Korean conservative forces are an obstacle to the improvement of the north-south relations, peace on the Korean peninsula and the accomplishment of the cause of reunification.

The south Korean conservative forces including the "Liberal Korea Party" (LKP) are making desperate efforts to turn the trend of favorably-developing situation back to confrontation, not pleased to see a new era of national reconciliation and unity, peace and prosperity offer itself, says the article.

It goes on:

The south Korean conservative forces revealed their hostility against the fellow countrymen in a frenzy of rage at the dramatic change made in the inter-Korean relations last year thanks to the DPRK's initiative and proactive efforts.

The LKP coteries became evermore desperate to throw a wet blanket over the atmosphere of the improvement of north-south relations and incite the sentiments of stifling the DPRK, making a clamor against the collapse of "security" and calling for "tightened cooperation" with the U.S. Not content with this, they went the length of sending the U.S. an "open letter of requests" in opposition to the improvement of the DPRK-U.S. relations.

It is the intention of the south Korean conservative forces to put a brake on the moves of all social strata demanding the implementation of the north-south declarations and thus realize their ambition to stifle the fellow countrymen at any cost in collusion with outsiders.

The reality shows that neither progress in the north-south relations nor any fruition for peace and prosperity can be seen without shattering the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and the anti-reunification moves of the south Korean conservative forces keen on confrontation with the fellow countrymen while being servile to the U.S. policy.
