Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), first vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission (SAC) of the DPRK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, vice-chairman of the SAC of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, and Kim Jae Ryong, member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, member of the SAC of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, went to the Chollima Steel Complex, the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex to congratulate workers on their holiday.

Other senior officials of the Party and the government, officials of the Cabinet and officials of Party and power organs at all levels significantly celebrated the May Day together with workers, agricultural workers and intellectuals at institutions, industrial establishments, construction sites and farms.

They laid floral baskets and bouquets and made a bow before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, portraits of the smiling peerlessly great men and their mosaics.

They made rounds of the revolutionary museums and rooms dedicated to the history of relevant units and other places.

They met with labor innovators and gave a pep-talk to them.

They joined the working people in colorful sports and amusement games including tug-of-war.
