The championship brought together at least 340 men and women wrestlers from 29 countries and regions including the DPRK, China, India, Kazakhstan and Mongolia.

DPRK players won one gold medal, three silvers and two bronzes.

Pak Yong Mi bagged a gold medal in women's wrestling 53kg category.

Kang Kum Song, Ri Se Ung and Jong Myong Suk placed second in men's freestyle wrestling 57kg category, men's Greco-roman wrestling 60kg category and women's wrestling 57kg category and Kim Han Song and Hwang Yong Ok third in men's freestyle 65kg category and women's wrestling 50kg category respectively.
