Construction of Tanchon Power Station Makes Headway
Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- The construction of the Tanchon Power Station is progressing apace in the DPRK.

Till the end of April, its builders carried out the footing excavation of structures at 80 percent, 140,000 cubic meters of concrete tamping and digging of 35,000 meters of pilot tunnel.

Solider-builders in charge of the dam construction for power station No. 5 carried out thousands of cubic meters of concrete tamping and completed concrete coating of one thousand and several hundred meter-long waterway tunnel in a little more than half month.

The 6th group of the High-Speed Youth Shock Brigade in charge of the dam construction for power station No. 6 has conducted the footing excavation and concrete tamping in three dimensions.

The Rason City Brigade has pushed ahead with the concrete coating of several hundred meter-long waterway tunnel and excavation for water inlet and structure tamping of power station No. 1.

Similar successes have been made by other construction units, too.
