The statement expressed full support for a proposal made by the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea to set a period from April 27 to June 12 as the "international action period for peace, prosperity and reunification on the Korean peninsula" on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the adoption of the Panmunjom Declaration and the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement.

It stressed the need to take positive international action for peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and support the Korean people in their struggle for national prosperity with concerted efforts.
