In recent three years, the university made more than 1,000 valuable sci-tech successes and developed 100-odd kinds of latest sci-tech products and 400-odd programs to contribute to putting the national economy on a Juche, modern, IT and scientific basis.

Its researchers introduced a technology for stabilizing the combustion by disperse control system into a large boiler of thermal power plant, thus making it possible to raise the combustion efficiency and power output and save tens of thousands of tons of coal a year.

The university also established a combined automatic system and PLC control system for Juche-based iron-making process and a hot rolled steel production process based on Juche iron.

Meanwhile, it introduced the technology for high-temperature air-combustion into the production process of fire-proof materials at the Sangwon Cement Complex to realize the fire brick production by domestic fuel and played a big role in modernizing the Pyongyang and Sinuiju cosmetics factories, the Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory, the Phyongsong Artificial Leather Factory and other light industrial establishments.

And the university developed latest sci-tech products like heavy-duty ozone generator and programs.

Kim Chaek University of Technology is playing a key role in developing the country's science and technology and economy.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited the university in September Juche 107 (2018) and in March Juche 108 (2019) and indicated the orientation and ways for its development, saying that the university plays a very important role in all key sectors of socialist economic construction.
