Present there were scientists, technicians, teachers, researchers, graduate students and field officials from various units including the Welding Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang University of Architecture, Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering and the Munchon Kumgang Smeltery.

The participants presented more than 70 papers and exhibits conducive to the research and development of the new welding method and welding equipment and to putting the welding materials on a Juche basis

There took place a lecture on new technologies and a show during the presentation and exhibition.
