Congolese, Nigerian Bodies Support Korean People's Struggle
Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- Congolese and Nigerian organizations made public statements on May 7 and 10 in support of the appeal issued by the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea.

The Congolese Association for Friendship among Peoples in a statement expressed full support for the historic Panmunjom Declaration which reflects the steadfast stand of national independence to solve all the issues as to inter-Korean relations in conformity with the demands and interests of the Korean nation and the firm will to achieve the historic cause of national reunification by the concerted efforts.

It said that the Panmunjom Declaration is the programme for reunification that indicates the most correct way to peace, prosperity and independent reunification desired by the Korean nation.

It pointed out that the adoption of the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement was a historic event which instilled hope into all peace-loving people, extending firm solidarity to the Korean people in their efforts for peace and stability of the Korean peninsula.

The Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association said in a statement that it will join the international actions demanding that the current peaceful atmosphere on the Korean peninsula lead to the establishment of a permanent peace mechanism, stressing that it would actively conduct solidarity activities in support of the Korean people's struggle for the country's reunification under the uplifted banner of national independence.
