Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- A work is brisk in the DPRK to use renewable energy like solar heat, wind force, subterranean heat and biomass. Recently, the Heat Engineering Faculty of Kim Chaek University of Technology succeeded in putting the production of electricity by rice-hull gas on a scientific basis. This provides a technical guarantee for increasing electric-power production with biomass energy. Its research group invented a new plan for increasing generating rate of rice-hull gas and removing tar while enhancing the heating value of gas. On this basis, it designed a generator for increasing the intensity of gasification. According to Associate Prof. Jon Yong Nam, section chief of the university, the result of its introduction showed that more than 100 cubic meters of gas can be obtained per hour, when the consumption rate of rice hull is 2 kg, to produce much electricity. |
