|
Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- Big efforts have been directed to securing fries of salmon, Alaska pollack, flounder and other saltwater fishes and their breeding in the DPRK. Recently, fishery stations in the east coastal area of the country secured at least seven millions of fertilized eggs of pollack and put more than one million pollack fries into the water. And provincial cooperative fisheries management committees in the east and west coastal areas and the Jonjin Taebong Fishery Station are pushing ahead with the work to reconstruct culture grounds and stock water with hundreds of thousands of flounders at one time. North and South Phyongan, South Hwanghae and Kangwon provincial fishery management bureaus are stepping up the preparations for breeding tilapia in sea. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Fisheries has paid attention to supplying equipment, reagents and others to various fishery stations in time and strengthening the sci-tech foundation for research into marine pisciculture. |
