The statement said that the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea suggested setting the period from April 27 to June 12, the first anniversaries of the adoption of the historic Panmunjom Declaration and the June 12 DPRK-U.S. joint statement, as the "period of the international action for peace, prosperity and reunification of the Korean peninsula" and expressed support for it.

The statement called upon all member organizations under the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Supporting Peaceful Reunification of Korea to conduct positive activities for solidarity with the Korean people, saying that the development of the situation on the Korean peninsula after the adoption of the Panmunjom Declaration was warmly welcomed by all peace-loving peoples in the world.
