Work to Spread "Kumya Black Pine" Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- A work to spread "Kumya black pine" is brisk in the DPRK.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un found the tree on the road of field guidance and named it "Kumya black pine".

This evergreen coniferous tall tree belonging to pine genus of pine family is a variation of black pine. Its average height is 20-30 meters and grows well in 9.5-16 degrees centigrade of the mean annual temperature and in the coastal area under 300 meters above sea level.

It has strong resistance to salt and harmful insects.

South Hamgyong Province set it as a task for the second-stage forest restoration campaign to create thousands of hectares of "Kumya black pine" forests in several years. Now the province is working to plant millions of trees every year.

The province has also organized a training course on sapling production and distributed technical specifications to many units to produce saplings of "Kumya black pine" on a massive scale.

Kosong and Thongchon counties of Kangwon Province, too, have waged the work to create "Kumya black pine" forests.
