The county cultivates high-yielding peaches like "Jungsan" (early-maturing variety), "sugar peach" (medium variety) and "September sweet peach" (long-season variety) in the area covering several hundred hectares.

It rationally fixed the cultivation area in accordance with the climate condition and has tended peach trees in a scientific way.

In the county there are many farm families cultivating 10-odd peach trees around their houses respectively, and some of them harvest more than 600 kilograms of peaches from June to September every year.

It has been 50-odd years since the county began the peach tree cultivation.

In hearty response to the spirit of the historic Pukchong enlarged plenary meeting of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea guided by President Kim Il Sung in April Juche 50 (1961), the county created many hectares of orchard through a mass campaign.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un made sure that a variety of peach trees being cultivated in the county were spread in a short span of time.
