The players will compete in over 30 events including football, basketball, volleyball, table-tennis and swimming, divided into junior and senior categories. Games will take place in Pyongyang, Phyongsong, Hamhung, Sariwon and Nampho from June 2 to 28.

Present at the opening ceremony were officials of Ryanggang Province including Ri Sang Won, chairman of the Ryanggang Provincial Party Committee, sportspersons, working people, youth and students of the province.
