The statement said that the adoption of the April 27 Panmunjom Declaration was warmly welcomed by all the Koreans and other peace-loving people of the world.

It noted that the Panmunjom Declaration heralded a new start of the north-south relations and opened a new era of peace and prosperity.

A genuine peace on the Korean peninsula can be realized only when the historic inter-Korean declarations are thoroughly implemented, it said.

It stated that the south Korean authorities should honestly implement the inter-Korean declarations in response to the sincere appeal of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for national independence and self-determination and great unity of the nation.

It expressed the belief that the Korean people will defend peace and security on the Korean peninsula and surely achieve the cause of national reunification under the seasoned leadership of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

The Guinea-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association released a statement on May 27 in support of the appeal issued by the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Committee to Support the Reunification of Korea. It expressed the support for the historic April 27 Panmunjom Declaration reflecting the firm stand of national independence.

The Panmunjom Declaration is, indeed, the reunification programme as it indicates the path of peace, prosperity and independent reunification aspired by the Korean nation, it stated, adding:

The adoption of the June 12 DPRK-U.S. Joint Statement was a historic event as it gave the hope to all the peace-loving people in the world.

We extend a firm solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle for peace and security on the Korean peninsula.
